Datum was established in 1979 to provide design and development services to companies requiring specialist manufacturing solutions in the security document and ISO credit card industry. The company continues to grow steadily and is now recognised as being among the leading suppliers of specialist equipment and services.

Datum manufactures and supplies machinery into both the domestic and export markets with the company continuing to earn a strong reputation for innovative designs and robust construction throughout a complete family of card finishing, test and handling equipment.

The range starts with the compact, accurate but simple to operate desktop equipment, through the medium duty and up to high volume/speed automated production systems. The Datum philosophy for uncomplicated design ensures user friendly operation, ease of maintenance and customer confidence throughout all the punch, hologram, signature patch and magnetic stripe or smart card manufacturing processes. Our equipment can be found operating successfully in many countries around the world and has aided the production of many hundreds of millions of credit, telephone, loyalty and identity cards.

Bespoke Design

Datum has a bespoke design service and is therefore able to offer solutions to many problems that cannot be solved by the purchase of standard equipment. This is a confidential and exclusive service in the Security Document field.

Training & Support

Datum offer a training service to their customers at our in-house training facility. We put great emphasis on not only a thorough understanding of the operation and maintenance of our equipment but also the teaching of many process skills and training with respect to IS0 standards and associated test equipment. Datum also offers an after sales support service to help customers with all aspects of the processes and testing of new materials.
